These public safety tips help adults recognize risky behavior, protect personal information, report harmful profiles, and plan first meetings with more confidence.
If something feels rushed, secretive, threatening, or financially risky, slow down. A respectful person will not punish you for protecting your privacy, asking normal questions, using calls before meeting, or keeping a first date public.
Do not share banking details, passwords, documents, home address, workplace address, or daily routines with a new match.
Emergency money, transport fees, customs fees, investments, crypto offers, and gift demands are common romance scam signals.
Use reporting and blocking tools when someone posts inappropriate content, harasses you, impersonates someone, or pressures you.
Keep early conversations inside DateZone until you feel comfortable. This gives you time to notice whether a person is consistent, respectful, and willing to answer normal questions. Be careful when someone wants to move immediately to private channels while avoiding basic verification.
A first meeting should be public, simple, and easy to leave. Choose a cafe, restaurant, mall, park, or daytime activity where other people are nearby. Arrange your own transport and tell a trusted person where you are going.
Scam profiles often build emotion quickly, then create a problem that requires money. They may claim a medical emergency, blocked travel, customs fees, business trouble, military deployment, inheritance documents, or a guaranteed investment opportunity.
A genuine match should not make financial pressure part of the relationship. If a story becomes dramatic and urgent very quickly, stop sending private information, keep evidence, and report the account.
